Pool Lessons

Our Pool Lessons (or hot tub lessons) take your baby’s water skills to the next level, designed for little ones aged 3 weeks to 36 months. By the end of these lessons, you’ll feel confident continuing their swim education independently. You can use any available pool option, making our lessons highly flexible.

What You’ll Need…

A Pool or Hot Tub:

Your Own Pool or Hot Tub: If you have access to a personal pool or hot tub, lessons can be done there! Make sure to read our blog post on hot tub safety for babies if you’re using this option.

Public Pools: No pool at home? No problem! You can conduct lessons at a local public pool during parent-and-tot open swim hours. Just make sure you have the right setup, and if the environment is noisy, we recommend using wireless headphones for better communication with your instructor.

Your Device

A device set up beside the pool for Zoom. If you’re unsure how to securely set up your device, consider using a phone mount like this one, to avoid it slipping into the pool or teaching the wet pool floor!

Wireless headphones for public pools to hear your instructor clearly.

Materials

Feel free to bring some of your little one’s favourite waterproof toys, a plastic cup & a face towel with you to the pool.

Swim diapers are also extremely helpful for little ones to avoid any accidents.

lesson focus

These lessons are recommended on a weekly basis to maintain continuity and build on each previous session. Check out our blog post on about transitioning from bath time to pool time for tips on moving from the tub to the pool.

  1. Basic water safety

  2. Floating and beginner stroke techniques

  3. Preparing for advanced swim instruction

Lindsay B.

“We started bathtub lessons at 3 weeks old. Swim instructors were amazed at our 9 month olds comfort in the water. From blowing bubbles to submersions to skooching to jump in the water, tub lessons helped us learn how to introduce water comfort with swimming. At home lessons were a great bonding experience postpartum and helped us expose our baby to swimming early. I wish we had done lessons with our first.”

“I loved the watermelow courses and so did my 9 week old. I truly believe they helped him be more comfortable in the water. Now at 10 months, my babe is a little fishy. I would 100% recommend these courses to anyone with a baby!”
