Bath Tub Lessons
Perfect for babies starting as early as 3 weeks old and up to 9 months, these lessons focus on building early water confidence in the safety and comfort of your own home. The goal is to familiarize your baby with water, introducing them to the watermellow submersion routine, which includes techniques before, during, and after every 3-second float. These lessons help develop your baby’s comfort in water at a young age, fostering a natural connection with aquatic environments.
What You’ll Need…
Bathtub
Large enough for you to sit in comfortably with your baby.
Fill the tub with water as much as possible and set it to a warm and comfortable temperature (around 100 Fahrenheit). Set up your device next to the tub with a clear view of the bath (an overhead view is best). Someone can hold the device or you can prop it up with a tripod or anything else that works (books, etc.). For pool lessons, set up your device so that your instructor can see you and your little one in the pool. Any device works, but you may want to have a towel close by in case of splashing.
Your Device
Any device compatible with Zoom to set up beside your tub.
You will receive a Zoom link via email, which will be used for your lesson. Make sure you have a strong internet connection ready! Headphones are super helpful too if you have them.
Materials
Have these materials beside your tub before your lesson for convenience.
You will need a plastic cup, floating toys, a swim diaper for your little one, hand towels and a non-slip mat (optional).

“We started bathtub lessons at 3 weeks old. Swim instructors were amazed at our 9 month olds comfort in the water. From blowing bubbles to submersions to skooching to jump in the water, tub lessons helped us learn how to introduce water comfort with swimming. At home lessons were a great bonding experience postpartum and helped us expose our baby to swimming early. I wish we had done lessons with our first.”

“I loved the watermelow courses and so did my 9 week old. I truly believe they helped him be more comfortable in the water. Now at 10 months, my babe is a little fishy. I would 100% recommend these courses to anyone with a baby!”
